Crimes Nearby: Road Rage, Dryer Fire and Home Burglaries

The following arrest information was supplied by several local police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions. 

Garden City

A 48-year-old West Hempstead man is facing charges for  involving a 22-year-old man on Rockaway Avenue and Fourth Street in Garden City.

Malverne-West Hempstead

Nassau County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in from back in May. He is described as a black male, 6’5” tall, with a stocky build and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, white T-shirt, blue jeans, black boots and a dark ski mask.

Four homes were recently from the driveway of a West Hempstead home on Oct. 13.

West Hempstead firefighters battled a Monday morning. No injuries were reported.

Malverne firefighters and police respond to home on Ocean Avenue across from Malverne High School after a . No one was seriously injured but one man who was home at the time of the incident was sent to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Westbury

A firefighter was reportedly injured at an Oct. 20 blaze on 99 Longfellow Ave. He was transported to a nearby hospital and treated.

A pedestrian was reportedly struck by a car that drove into a telephone pole at 419 Old Country Rd. on Oct. 17.

On Oct. 16, two masked men reportedly robbed a business at 232 Post Ave. and made off with an unknown amount of money.
