The following arrest information was supplied by several local police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

New Hyde Park

Nassau County Police arrested a Florda man for from the on Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park. Police allegedly saw marijuana in the car alongside the man’s two children.

A New Hyde Park woman was one of six persons which were used to withdraw $5,800 from a Nassau County Police Federal Credit Union account.

Westbury

A fire broke out on the second floor of a structure on Post Avenue and Drexel Avenue on April 15 at 12:10 a.m.

Carle Place

A car overturned on the westbound side of the Northern State Parkway between exits 30 and 31 on April 11 at about 11:15 a.m. The driver was trapped inside the auto but freed by emergency workers. 

Hicksville

A car fire occurred on Jerusalem Avenue and Spindle Road on April 17 at 1:13 a.m.

A motor vehicle accident occurred on Stewart Avenue and Wellington Road on April 17 at 6:19 p.m., shutting down the roadway.

A fuel spill occurred on April 18 at 10:08 a.m. from a tractor-trailer from Roslyn Road to Old Country Road. The Mineola Fire Department also responded to the scene.

A joint investigation by the Garden City Police Department and the Adelphi Public Safety Department led to the arrest on April 12 of a 21-year-old student who had illegally entered university Web accounts of other students by changing their passwords and copying computer files without permission to do so.

A 29-year-old male from Garden City was arrested for assault, criminal mischief and harassment on Jackson Street on April 17. The subject allegedly kicked and punched a resident, who was discussing the subject’s speeding habits with another person, in the face, causing swelling and bruises. The subject then punched another resident, who was attempting to intervene, in the face, causing lacerations and abrasions and breaking a gold chain that was around the resident’s neck.

Malverne-West Hempstead

A 49-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning in West Hempstead after in Hempstead. According to detectives, Dennis Sibert allegedly went to the residence of a 60-year-old woman on Union Place in Hempstead on Tuesday, April 17. Around 9:50 p.m., Sibert allegedly struck the apartment building with an incendiary device, causing both the building and ground to ignite.

Nassau County Police are investigating two incidents of in West Hempstead. According to detectives, a 53-year-old female noticed a swastika painted on the front window of her Wilson Street home on April 13. A second incident was reported on April 16 by a 35-year-old male, who discovered a swastika, approximately two feet high by two feet wide, painted on the passenger door of his 1999 Volkswagen at his Ivy Street residence, police said. Both incidents are under investigation.
