Crimes Nearby: Teen Charged with Sex Abuse at Rehab Facility

Police responded to the drug rehabilitation and treatment center for adolescent males on Industrial Road — not far from police headquarters — after a report of a victim of violence at about 5:10 p.m. They found an 18-year-old male victim had been assaulted. Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing $250K from Boss

Doreen Goucher, 62, of of Atlantic Beach, was working as a bookkeeper for an architect and forged her boss' signature on checks, reported the DA. Between June 2006 and December 2011, Goucher forged 116 checks totaling $258,731 of company funds and used the money to pay off her personal expenses, the DA reported. Cops: Man Punched, Robbed on Nassau Community Campus

A man was punched, pushed, and robbed in front of the Nassau Community College bookstore Monday evening, according to Nassau County Police. Detectives said an 18-year-old man was walking on the campus when he was approached by two unidentified men. The two assailants punched and pushed the victim to the ground and took money from his left pocket, according to police. Click here to read the full story.

Woman Arrested in Pharmacy Theft

Nassau County police said they've arrested a Brooklyn woman who took 100 Oxycodone pills from Nordon Drugs on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne.

The Narcotics/Vice Bureau said that Shivashti I. Mahabir, who allegedly committed the crime in August, was arrested at her home without incident. Click here to read the full story.

Firefighter Killed in Upstate Hunting Accident

Malverne firefighter and Franklin Square resident Charles Bruce was killed in an upstate hunting accident Saturday after a friend mistook him for a deer, the NY Daily News reported.
