Fire Engulfs Mineola Pool Snack Stand

Blaze may have started in one of the deep fryers.

A small fire broke out at the snack stand Friday morning at around 10:30 a.m., engulfing much of the concession area in flame.

The fire, described as a ‘signal 10,’ appeared to have started in the deep fryer on the southern end of the building.

Mineola ex-Chief Jeffrey Clark led the efforts to extinguish the blaze as children from the village’s recreation program and visitors to the nearby watched from afar.

Ambulance and EMS crews were on the scene, but no injuries were reported.

There is no estimation on the damage to the building at this time.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

I do not know what you mean by a "senior building." Please be more specific. If you areRead More talking about the Winston-Churchill project and not a senior assisted living facility, we have a small update here: http://mineola.patch.com/groups/politics-and-elections/p/flood-mitigation-apartment-projects-moving-forward
