Mineola Firefighters Help Combat Kitchen Blaze

Firefighters respond to mutual aid call in Garden City Wednesday.

answered a call for assist from Garden City Wednesday morning as a blaze burned inside a home at 16 Beech St.

The was on the scene shortly after 11 a.m. along with the firefighters from Mineola and a crew from Carle Place.

Members of Mineola Co. No. 2 responded but were released shortly after arriving according to a witness.

The flames were extending from the stove to the ceiling when firefighters entered the home, but they were able to contain the blaze and knock it down within minutes, according to firefighters at the scene.

However, they did say that the kitchen, an exterior wall and other areas of the house did suffer some smoke damage.

The homeowner was able to get out of the home, but was brought to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation by emergency personnel.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
