Mineola Infant Treated for Smoke Inhalation

Stove reportedly left on during child's feeding.

A newborn child was treated for smoke inhalation Friday afternoon at a residence at 60 Croyden Road. According to members of the  at the scene, the incident occurred when the stove was left on for the child’s meal, causing the smoke.

The fire call was first reported at 1:09 p.m. and another call for an emergency medical services unit placed at 1:22 p.m. The responded to the scene and treated the newborn.

There were no further injuries reported or structural damage to the home.
