Jericho Turnpike in Mineola had to be closed in both directions Wednesday afternoon after an SUV lost control and overturned onto its side.
The accident occurred at about 4:21 p.m. as the vehicle was travelling on Jericho Turnpike between Mineola Boulevard and Willis Avenue directly in front of the .
The driver was trapped in the vehicle but was quickly removed by Mineola firefighters and Nassau County Police emergency personnel.
