Police Seeking Mineola Pharmacy Robber

Suspect reportedly attempted to rob Walgreens, made off with cash from CVS.

Nassau County Police are seeking a man wanted for trying to rob a Walgreen’s as well as a CVS in Mineola Friday afternoon.

According to Third Precinct detectives, at about 4:15 p.m. on Friday, a male suspect entered the Walgreen’s at 1 Jericho Turnpike and demanded money from the male cashier, 33, who stated he was unable to open the register.

The subject reportedly had his hand in his coat pocket simulating he had a weapon, but none was seen. The subject left the store without any proceeds.

He is decribed as a white male in his 50’s, wearing a black three quarter length jacket, black pants, black shoes, and a black ski cap pulled over his face.

A few minutes later the same subject entered the CVS located at 17 E. Jericho Turnpike across Roslyn Road and demanded money from the 20-year old femals cashier who complied, giving him an unknown amount of funds in a plastic bag. He fled the store on foot towards Royal Avenue where he was seen on a mountain style bicycle riding southbound.
