Prisoner Escapes from Police Custody in Mineola

Female suspect leapt through window to escape.

A female suspect escaped from Nassau County Police in Mineola this morning after jumping out of a first floor window at the county probation office building.

The incident occurred at about 10 a.m. Friday morning after the female was in the custody of the warrant squad.

The escapee, a white female 5' 10” in height with blonde hair and wearing a beige tanktop and blue jeans, was last seen headed toward Old Country Road.

4:30 p.m. Update: the prisoner was apprehended this afternoon by authorities.
