Robbery Victim Chases Subject, Retrieves Her Purse

A woman sitting on a bench at the was victim of an attempted robbery around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to Third Squad detectives, a Hispanic male ran past the 32-year-old woman, grabbing her purse. 

"When the victim chased the subject and grabbed him, the suspect pushed the victim down causing her to fall on her hands and knees suffering minor abrasions," the police report states. "The victim then got up and continued to chase the suspect, cornering him in an alley behind 80 Main St."

The woman then allegedly grabbed the suspect and pushed him against a car, at which time he wiggled out of his jacket and fled, leaving behind the jacket and the victim's purse. The victim did not request immediate medical assistance.
