Multiple people were injured in a serious, multi-vehicle collision on Old Country Road and Russel Drive in Mineola early Sunday afternoon August 18.

The accident involved three vehicles with two leaving the roadway near Laurel Road.

Dozens of stunned neighborhood residents stood behind the police lines after witnessing or hearing the crash.

Numerous Nassau County and Mineola Volunteer ambulances along with county and Garden City Village police were on the scene shortly after 12:15 p.m.

According to Nassau County Police, two of the drivers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
