The Mineola village board held a meeting on September 1. Take a look at what you missed.

Board Rescinds "No Parking" Regulation on Burkhard Avenue:

  • After receiving a petition from residents of Burkhard Avenue, the village will be removing a parking restriction of "No parking 9 p.m. to 7 a.m." from their block. A total of 14 homes have signed the petition, or two-thirds of the residents. "What this represents realistically from our perspective is the removal of signs," Superintendent of Public Works Tom Rini said, recommending a trial period be held. "There is no cost for doing that, there is no additional signage that has to be made." The restriction was implemented to create parking relief to commercial properties on Jericho Turnpike. The signs would not be discarded in case they need to be put back up after the trial period.
