Second-graders at Hampton Street School in the Mineola School District recently received some practical lessons in safety from Child Abuse Presentation Services, a Long Island organization dedicated to preventing bullying and child abuse.
The CAPS presenter gavestudents a series of scenarios and discussed how to be ready to react to these situations inreal life.
Students practiced standing up tall and yelling “Stop that!” or “Go away!” in astrong and confident voice.
They also practiced getting away as quickly as possible to tella trusted adult.
