‘Joshua Dread’ Author Visits Jackson Avenue School

Author Lee Bacon holds writing workshop with Mineola students.

Students at Jackson Avenue School in the Mineola School District were recently visited by the famous “Joshua Dread” series author Lee Bacon.

Bacon shared “behind-the-scenes” information on plot lines, character development and illustration creation with third- and fourth-graders at the school. Following a brief large-group presentation, Bacon visited individual classrooms, where he answered questions from fans and conducted a “create your own supervillain/superhero” workshop with the children.

The workshop followed a create-your-own-adventure format and asked students to work collaboratively with one another.
