Mineola Middle School Hosts Casino Night
Fundraiser will support cultural arts programs in the schools.
The held a Casino Night Fundraiser at the in Williston Park Saturday night to "support ongoing literacy and cultural arts programs." Hosted by parent volunteer Christine Marchiselli, the fundraiser was sponsored by the PTA, who packed the hall with game tables and set up an open bar and buffet.
Featured games included roulette, blackjack, craps and poker. "It's wonderful that we have all this support," middle school principal Mark Barth said.
The prizes ranged from gift certificates, wine coolers and surprise baskets. Over 50 companies on Long Island generously donated prizes for the event. Among the many in attendance were Denise Scheer and Jason Knowland, who met at the same fundraiser back in 2006 and are now recently engaged.
