Chaminade’s Connors and Mahon Named All-Americans

 varsity lacrosse goalie John Connors and Midfielder Sean Mahon were both named to the 2011 Under Armour Lax All-American Boys North team on Friday.

The two Flyers will play along with the other 20 members of the team under Manhasset coach Bill Cherry against the members of the south team in the sixth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic at Towson University in Maryland on July 2.

Twelve of the 22 overall players chosen from the list are from Long Island.

This year the Flyers went 14-3 advancing to the NSCHSAA championship game but were . 

Bellmore native Connors made 137 saves on the season and is planning on attending Navy while Mahon, a midfielder from Garden City, had 20 goals on the year and will attend Harvard in the fall.
