Flyers Outskates Farrell Hockey 4-1

Chaminade goalie Brandon DeStasio makes 27 stops against Lions.

Chaminade notched another win on the ice Friday night thanks to a relatively punchless Monsignor Farrell offense that managed only a single goal against the Flyer defensive lines at Abe Stark Park in Brooklyn.

The Flyers (4-1-0) got out to a quick start as Fred Ondris got one past Farrell goalie Kyle Schumacher less than three minutes into the first period. The Lions (4-5-1) failed to score on a 2-man advantage in the second and were unable to muster any offense for the rest of the game except when Andrew DeCarlo managed to get the puck past Chaminade goalie Brandon DeStasio midway through the third period.

Michael Minarczyk put Chaminade up 2-0 five minutes into the second period and John Oddo added one of his own 2:24 into the final frame. Andrew Veglucci netted the Flyers’ fourth goal of the game 17 seconds later. DeStasio had 27 stops on the night.
