Flyers Tennis Moves Into Finals
Chaminade sweeps St. John the Baptist 7-0 to face St. Anthony's in CHSAA final.
The last two times Chaminade tennis team faced St. John the Baptist this season the Flyers swept them in match play.
But Wednesday was the CHSAA playoff semifinals; in other words either win or the season’s over.
“Playoffs are a different mentality,” Chaminade head coach Jim Quinn said. “There is obviously a lot more pressure to win for both teams.”

The Cougars gave it their all but the Flyers’ talent was to much for them to overcome, dominating in doubles and coasted in singles to sweep the match 7-0.
The closest and longest match of the day was in first singles where Chaminade’s J.T Esposito faced off against Cougar Devin Ticcardi.

The two players who have engaged in some went toe-to-toe with another before Esposito was able to pull out the win 6-3 7-6 (7-5.)
“He’s a heck of a player,” Quinn said of Ticcardi. “No matter what the score is he never gives up.”
Second singles Eric Lobben cruised in his match winning 6-2 6-1 and third singles, Rich DeGregorio double bageled his opponent 6-0 6-0.
All of the doubles teams were victorious, allowing the Flyers to move onto face undefeated St. Anthony’s in the finals.
