Facing a historically strong Manhasset team, Mineola battled all game and had several offensive rallies thwarted by sharp Manhasset defense.

Despite the loss, Mineola manager Ken Solosky was very pleased with the players’ efforts.

“We had about a one month layoff between the summer and fall seasons so the boys had to regain their timing and baseball mindset. All things considered I think they battled all game and played superb,” Solosky said.
