Mineola Boys Lacrosse Doubles Island Trees on 2013 Senior Day

Mustangs improve to 4-2 with 13-6 win over Bulldogs.

The Mineola Boys Varsity Lacrosse team bounced back after a 15-7 loss against arch-rival Seaford with a drubbing of their own against Island Trees at Hampton Street Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Mustangs got out to a rapid start, netting five in the first quarter against the Bulldogs on Senior Day, after they had sprung through their newly received sports tunnel and the members of the Class of 2013 had handed their mothers traditional roses.

Kyle Dunleavy led the attack with a hat trick while Chris Lockwood, Tevin Quirk and Tim Gill each had two goals. Senior Brian Gaffney had five assists in the contest. John Clancey had 11 saves in net.

The Mustangs will face off against Oyster Bay at home on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. and end their regular season against Conference IV champion Friends Academy on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. before starting the playoffs.
