Seaford Swamps Lady Mustangs Lacrosse 13-8
Kerri Medlock, Erica Antonison each score three as Mineola drops second game of season.
In a game that was expected to be a tough fight, the Mineola girls varsity lacrosse team lost to the Lady Vikings of Seaford Thursday at with a final score of 13-8.
Coach Frank Massaro urged his team to come out strong, saying, “right from the get go, play hard and want the ball."
Things started out well for Mineola, with the Medlock sisters scoring early on, first junior Kerri at 23:18, then senior Kalie exactly a minute after that. Kerri scored twice more, the first assisted by her sister to put Mineola up 3-0 and the second coming after a Seaford goal to make it 4-1.

The Lady Vikings then went on a tear, scoring three goals off wile Mineola defender Erica Antonison got one into the home team’s net.
Seaford got another pair past Mineola goalkeeper Katie Dul, while the Lady Mustangs were only able to put one on the board off the stick of attacker Ashley Stavish, assisted by midfielder Kalie Medlock to bring Mineola within one.

However, Seaford would not relinquish their lead, scoring four more times to make it 10-6 going into the half.
Antonison scored again after a nice breakaway and sprint up the field and after Seaford netter another pair to immediately start the second to bring it to 12-8, capping things off with a goal with six seconds left in the game
“(We need) to make some shooting adjustments,” Massaro said after the game, referring to the Seaford goalie’s ability to expect high shots from certain players and low shots from others.
“The girls know they need work and it’s still early.”
