Winter Storm Hercules, which is slowly winding down, has dumped more than 7 inches of snow on Mineola since the white stuff began falling Thursday evening.

According to the Weather Channel, an estimated 7.5 inches have fallen over the past 24 hours. There's a slight chance of more snow before noon Friday, with areas of blowing snow after noon.

According to Mike Silva, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Office in Upton, the storm held no surprises.

"This pretty much panned out exactly as we expected," he said. "We expected six to 10 inches of snow, with maybe a little bit higher out east. Some places managed to touch a foot."

Winds, however, weren't quite as fierce as initially predicted, but were starting to pick up Friday morning, with "very dangerous" temperatures across Long Island. With the wind chill factor, some areas felt as though it were minus 11 degrees, with a range of minus three to minus eight.

Temperatures are not expected to rise higher than the upper teens for most of Long Island Friday. It's currently 14 degrees in Garden City with wind chill values as low as -6.

Two last bands of snow are slated to continue moving across Long Island Friday morning, one in Suffolk County and one over northern Nassau; another inch or two of snow will fall by 1 p.m., when the white stuff should disappear from the area completely.

Here are the latest snowfall accumulations, according to the NWS:

Nassau County

New Hyde Park: 7.0 inches

North Merrick: 8.5 inches

Bellmore: 5.5 inches

Massapequa: 10.1 inches

North Massapequa: 7.5 inches

Oceanside: 11.0 inches

Levittown: 6.2 inches
